Military Doublespeak: – “Collateral damage” instead of “civilian casualties” – “Enhanced interrogation techniques” instead of “torture”

Corporate Doublespeak: – “Right-sizing” instead of “layoffs” – “Price adjustment” instead of “price increase”

Political Doublespeak: – “Alternative facts” instead of “false information” – “Revenue enhancement” instead of “tax increase”

Advertising Doublespeak: – “New and improved” (How can something be both new and improved?) – “Up to 50% off” (Could mean anything from 1% to 50% off)
